Q: Tell me about your job
A: I am responsible for Linetec’s Information Technology (IT), which includes the network, computers, phones and business applications that are used to help Linetec excel at servicing its customers. I manage a team that is responsible for understanding Linetec’s business and the available options that exist in the technical arena. When business challenges or opportunities are presented from Linetec employees, our goal is to provide the best solution –, whether it is a change in the software, implementing new software, adding hardware like scanners and tablets, or just answering questions about Linetec’s systems.
Q: What did you do prior to Linetec/Apogee?
A: I was in charge of custom solutions for a software company, providing custom development, training, consulting and solutions for the company’s customers. I managed a team of developers in both the U.S. and Mexico.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: When a good solution is implemented, to see the positive impact it makes for the business and the people involved.
Q: What poses the biggest challenges for you?
A: Keeping up with the fast moving and emerging technologies, while minimizing the impact of hanging on to legacy technologies.
Q: What is something you are looking forward to?
A: The Vikings winning the Super Bowl before I retire, or for that matter, before I die.
Q: Do you collect anything?
A: Memories through photographs. I enjoy taking pictures of my family and of nature.
Q: What is something people don’t know about you?
A: I am a huge country music fan and would like to attend many country concerts after I retire.
Q: If Linetec gave you a surprise three day paid break to rest and recuperate, what would you do with those three days?
A: Camp and fish with the Family.
Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Cold water lobster and breakfast cereal
Q: What always cheers you up when you think about it?
A: All three of my kids are graduated from college and have good jobs.
