Tell me about your job

I am the environmental engineer for Linetec. I am responsible for anything that pertains to our environmental responsibility – air permits, wastewater permits, hazardous waste and universal waste.

What did you do prior to Linetec?

I have been in the environmental field going on six years. Prior to Linetec I was with Wausau Tile with the same types of responsibilities on a smaller scale.

What is the favorite part of your job?

I enjoy problem solving and this position/career has no shortage of challenges.

What poses the biggest challenge for you?

Finding and resolving hidden issues. With the help of the environmental team, we continue to improve and grow the environmental program.

What is something you always look forward to?

I am looking forward to enjoying the summer weather doing all the things I like to do – camping, golfing, mountain biking, playing with my dogs, going to concerts and spending time with loved ones.

Do you collect anything?

I do not really collect anything. I probably do the opposite as I really dislike having clutter in my spaces.

What is something people don’t know about you?

I would guess people don’t know that I am Native American. I grew up on the Menominee Reservation (which is only about an hour east from Wausau). I am enrolled Menominee, but I am also Comanche (from Oklahoma) and Stockbridge Munsee (a.k.a. Mohican).

If Linetec gave you a surprise three-day paid break, to rest and recuperate, what would you do with those three days?

It depends on the time of year. I would either go camping – spending time with my dogs, partner, and family. If we are into the fall/winter months, I would likely want to spend the time hunting or ice fishing.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Easy question, tacos. I could eat Mexican food everyday if my partner let me.

What is something that always cheers you up when you think about it?

Spending time with my dogs, usually enjoying some type of outdoor activity where they can run free. I have two Belgian Malinois that can keep up all day no matter what it is we are doing.
