Tell me about your job

I am the maintenance supervisor here at Linetec. I oversee our maintenance team, which is compiled of 28 associates. Our associates are spread over 12 shifts. We are responsible for maintaining four plants, which cover nearly one million square feet. With the help of two great managers, things run pretty smoothly. We all strive to work together toward one goal in keeping our facility in good running condition.

What did you do prior to coming to Linetec?

Prior to Linetec, I worked as a project manager for a company that sold automated packaging equipment in the food industry. I traveled quoting and installing the equipment. I enjoyed the automation, but not the travel. It was the core values of Linetec that enticed me to join the Linetec team.

What is your favorite part of your job?

I would say my favorite part of my job is working with my team in solving problems. If the team is involved with the solution, I have found that everyone will then take ownership and you will have a much better outcome. Two heads are better than one.

What poses the biggest challenges for you?

With the different types of shifts we have in the maintenance department, associates are off anywhere from three days to seven days. It becomes difficult to manage those associates’ schedules. We have to be cognizant of projects that are assigned to those associates. If we assign a four-day project and they are only on for the next three days, we run the risk of the project not being accomplished. Again, we all work together to manage these gaps.

What is something you are looking forward to?

I look forward to not seeing another winter. Yes, I know that won’t happen, so I make the best of it by decorating my pond for winter. We put on ice skating parties with friends and family throughout the winter. The grand kids love it.

Do you collect anything?

I do. I collect dice and playing cards. There are many intriguing things about dice, such as the many different colors, logos, shapes and pips. Pips are what the dots on dice are called along with the shapes (spades, hearts, diamonds and clubs) on playing cards. Vegas only uses razor edge dice for all their tables. Sorry to bore you. I learned through years that if want to find unusual dice, you have to buy boxed games that include dice. I have always wanted to find dice with NFL logos on them, but the NFL doesn’t sell such dice. I will keep looking.

What is something people don’t know you?

During my years in the packaging industry I invented an easy-open process for carton sealers that are designed to tape boxes automatically. The device (Ripcord) was designed to protect both the person and constant of the box when opening the package. I was able to patent and sell the rights to the number one manufacture of carton sealing tape in the U.S. You can view the product on the web at https://youtu.be/1d9DID2VXJo

If Linetec gave you a surprise three-day paid break to rest and recuperate, what would you do with those three days?

Because I have already established that I do not like winter, I would take my beautiful wife to a beach in Florida and relax. I would like to say thank you in advance. Thank you Linetec. LOL.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I would choose broiled chicken. Who can resist? P.S. this can be an add on to that trip to Florida. Just saying?

What always cheers you up?

Spending time with my family brings me the most joy of all.
