As a registered American Institute of Architects’ Continuing Education System (AIA/CES) provider, Linetec now offers “Choosing Sustainable Finishes".

This sustainable design presentation includes the informed selection of materials, products and manufacturers to reduce environmental impacts and improve building performance.

Following the coursework, participants can earn 1.0 Learning Units (LUs) for Health, Safety and Welfare (HSW) and Sustainable Design (SD).

Those who successfully complete “Choosing Sustainable Finishes” will gain a full understanding of:

• Why aluminum is chosen as a building product
• Sustainable considerations of architectural finishing, including anodize, PVDF (Kynar®) paint and powder coat
• American Architectural Manufacturers Association specifications and warranty information
• Environmental considerations in choosing a coatings provider
• How architectural finishing contributes to the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® Rating System™

Description:  This sustainable design presentation includes the informed selection of materials, products, and manufacturers to reduce environmental impacts and improve building performance.

Objective:  Participants will learn why aluminum is chosen as a building product and what are the sustainable considerations of each aluminum finish: anodize, PVDF Paint (Kynar), and powder coat.

AAMA Specifications and warranty information of each finish type is discussed as well as environmental considerations in choosing a coating applicator.

The presentation concludes with how architectural finishing contributes to the USGBC LEED rating system.

As the nation's largest independent finisher, Linetec offers an AIA/CES Registered Program, "Introduction to Coatings: Field Performance and the Application Process." The presentation covers high-performance PVDF coatings (Kynar), Baked Enamel, Anodize and Powder Coat Finishes.

As an AIA/CES Registered Provider, our presentation helps architects, contractors, and other members of the building community to better understand field performance and the application process of architectural coatings while earning valuable learning units. Presentation attendees will learn about the anodizing and paint process, specifications, and performances.

Participants will learn how different paint and anodize coatings rate when compared to architectural specifications - AAMA. Each application process is explained to help those involved with projects assure that a quality finish is provided.

"Introduction to Coatings" is offered as an in-house presentation at your facility given by a Linetec Representative and as an on-line distance education course through our website. Description:  This program compares the field performance of architectural Kynar® paint and anodize finishes. Application processes for a quality finish will also be discussed.

Objective:  Participants of this course will learn how different paint and anodize finishes rate when compared to architectural specifications.

Participants will also learn about the application process to make sure a quality product is provided.
